RedDeer.Games, producer and lead developer of The Evil One video game series, based on the license for Leopold Tyrmand’s iconic book of the same name, is pleased to announce that Krystian Kusz is the winner of the second competition for a board game set in the dark world of the novel.
RedDeer.Games, as a licensee of The Evil One title, has organized two competitions, which will expand the unique universe from the book.
The winners of the first contest for comic book competition were Krzysztof Skory in first place, Łukasz Pawlak in second place, along with Marcin Bałczewski and Alan Gajewski closing out the podium in third place.

RedDeer.Games announced today the winner of the second competition – for the boardgame, which was won by the abovementioned Krystian Kusz.
– “The Evil One” is essentially a ready-made product for adaptation into contemporary entertainment in any form – this novel remains universal – says the competition winner, Krystian Kusz
Following his win in the board competition, Krystian gave an interview in the Polish weekly magazine – Wprost, where he talked about his contest-winning entry, overall inspirations, and life experiences, that are helpful in the successful development of games.
– My passion for board games began (…) when I realized that designing buildings and games share a common denominator. In both cases, you create with others in mind (…) – shares Krystian Kusz in an interview.
– Architecture must consider the human aspect – mood, expectations, usability (…). The player must experience similar feelings. – adds the winner.
The comic book and board game contests were inspired by the dark post-war world created by Leopold Tyrmand in his novel The Evil One. Participants were tasked with faithfully or freely adapting the book’s world.
