Boreal Tenebrae (Switch, Xbox) release date revealed! 

Boreal Tenebrae is a dark retro adventure in the style of 90s PlayStation 1 classics, with cartoonish graphics and synth wave music to deepen the atmosphere of horror. 

This disturbing, surreal story will be available on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One / Xbox Series S|X thanks to RedDeer.games on April 8.

Sudden technological changes and digital evolution cause terror and anxiety in society. In a small, lonely town where this type of transformation proceeds much slower, the impact of this kind of phenomenon is always increased.

And people are usually hostile to it.

WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON?
In such a small town, Dusky Rivers, set in an idyllic landscape, this story begins. A technological anomaly suddenly appears.

This phenomenon bends reality and absorbs what is in its vicinity from time to time. And its first victim was your sister Sarah.

TEAMWORK
Play as Bree, the main character, Sarah’s sister, as well as her friends, and city residents.

Each of the characters looks at the town differently, has a contrasting story and diverse insights, but each of them is important in the attempt to solve the mystery of the anomaly that Sarah was accused of causing.

SAVE THE TOWN 
Explore and discover the town and its alternative, dark version. Collect and redo items, discover diary recordings to learn more about the story, and play cassette tapes.

Complete the ritual started by Sarah, save her and others from the alternate world, and discover the dark secrets of a slowly decaying town.

Trash Quest – release date revealed and a new trailer has just come out!

 

So you like difficult games? Are „Veteran” or „Nightmare” basic levels for you? You should try Trash Quest. The premiere on Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X will be on December 10 and on Nintendo Switch on December 16. Check out this new video to learn more about the game.

Welcome to the world of Trash Quest – a pixel art platformer in which your task will be to fight your way through the maze of the space station rooms by defeating numerous enemies with the help of collected power-ups.

TIME TO START A GAME
The action takes place on board of Deliverance space station. While the crew is ready for a long journey to Tau Ceti, being settled in their cryo pods, the AI on the ship, during system check has detected uninvited guest.

Aaand yes, it’s a small, filthy raccoon with a simple purpose in life – to collect as much trash as he can. But this time his task won’t be that easy since defense systems don’t allow to take another passenger on the trip.


INCREASING DIFFICULTIES
Trash Quest delivers exactly what you expect  – a short, intense, and tight platforming experience. The game’s world is divided into four zones, each with its own visual and musical theme, and the player has to traverse them by collecting upgrades and discovering new shortcuts on the map.

This is crucial for your mission because, in classic Metroidvania style, you can’t reach certain places unless you’ve upgraded yourself with the required ability. Like for example double or triple jump. 

IT WON’T BE EASY
The progression in the game saves automatically. BUT… there’s only one single spawn location where you reappear every time you die. Do not worry, any power-ups, abilities, or shortcuts you’ve unlocked will remain.

BEGIN YOUR TRASH QUEST
Trash Quest takes place on the space station Deliverance. The crew has just begun prep work for the long trip to Tau Ceti. The AI has been activated, and it’s performing a quick system check, but that’s not what you care about…

PLAY AS A RACCOON 
You play as a raccoon, not concerned with the complex defense systems, a raccoon that only cares about getting its filthy hands on the station’s trash, which is what this fluffy creature loves the most in this space adventure. 



BATTLE ENEMIES 
Explore an interconnected maze of space station’s rooms as you smash nasty robots and face strong bosses. As the game goes on, the difficulty of battling enemies steadily increases, but the more familiar you become with the mechanics, the easier it is to defeat them.

New Boreal Tenebrae short film digs into the past of a mysterious, dying town. Check out this amazing cinematic before playing the game!

RedDeer.games revealed a new animated short for Boreal Tenebrae, an atmospheric adventure game with horror elements, heavily inspired by the greatest PlayStation 1 titles and popular TV shows such as Stranger Things and Twin Peaks.

This unique game, created by Snot Bubbles Productions, will launch on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X later this year.

BOREAL TENEBRAE ANIMATED SHORT
This new cinematic introduces you to the gloomy world of Boreal Tenebrae, where everything is out of the ordinary. Strange blocks emitting hypnotic static have appeared in town. Some locals, including Sarah, have been absorbed by this weird object and have never come back.

The short movie was directed and created by Boreal Tenebrae’s developer Daniel Beaulieu, who is a talented 3D Character Animator with years of experience. 

SURREAL JOURNEY
Boreal Tenebrae lets you experience a mysterious adventure with a touch of horror. In this nightmare of a dying town, you traverse many unique locations from Boreal’s world and dark alternate universe searching for your missing sister Sarah.

COMPLETE THE RITE
Before Sarah vanished, she began the mysterious ritual that must be completed to heal the infected town. Only you can do it. Explore the dying world, investigate the murder, solve puzzles and try to stop this apocalypse. 

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND BOREAL TENEBRAE
– The concept behind Boreal Tenebrae comes from my youth. Growing up in some of the small rural communities of Canada gave me a unique and anachronistic perspective of the 1990’s: juxtaposed between tradition and technology – said Daniel Beaulieu, the creator of Boreal Tenebrae.
